Given the alternatives available to having to actually go to a testing
center and the benefits of having the whole process ISO and ANSI
certified, I don't see what all the fuss is about. I think this is a
move in the right direction.

A couple of my closest friends are tradesmen, one an electrician and
the other a plumber. They both have to take proctored exams to earn
and retain their licenses. Having their exams proctored lends more
credibility to the process. The same will be true of GIAC.

A practical would be nice. One day I hope to go for the GSE, but I've
many things to learn between now and then and I've got some gold to go
for first.
