I actually think it just confirms standing practice that you can't be
forced to incriminate yourself. Criminals already encrypt data (if they
are sophisticated enough). And even if they could compel you to reveal
the key, you can always claim that you forgot it.
Yes, it would be easier to be able to force people to reveal the key.
But then again, why not just force them to admit that they are guilty?
