That might make a difference.  I used to use a D-Link, and had issues
getting it to send mail to a qmail server, which both I and my ISP used.
The problem was with the content of the messages breaking RFC by using only
line feed characters between the timestamp and other information fields,
then a proper cr/lf at the end of a record.  qmail is pathologically RFC
compliant, so it would reject them.  I finally had to add some filtering to
my qmail host to add the missing carriage return characters.  I don't have
this setup anymore, so I don't remember what I used, but I think it was
fixcrio.
