The number after the / is the number of bits that are set in the subnet 
mask.

/8 = 255.0.0.0
/12 = 255.127.0.0
/16 = 255.255.0.0
/24 = 255.255.255.0

(I have to check the /12 entry. I did try to stick to the easy to 
translate /8 /16 and /24 subnets...)
