126/8 is a potentially valid network -- it is currently unallocated -- I don't seem to recall a special purpose for it, but don't quote me on that.
Perhaps you are thinking of 127/8? -- the LOCAL LOOPBACK network (more or less) -- NOT the same as 126/8.
