If you installed Microsoft .NET Framework it "automatically" created this
account for you to enable .NET connectivity. If you're not using any .NET
features, you can disable the account or even delete it.

Subject: [Dshield] dshield, I think I might have a problem...

I finally had time to look at some of the things on my new computer, and I
found this under the users feature. It says...

ASP.net Machine A
limited account
password protected

I have accounts designated for my other family members, and just today set
up my daughter's account which had it's own visible icon. All the others
are there too, but the one 'account' mentioned above I didn't do.

Seeing it made me think of those zombie computers you-all have been
talking about re: the blaster worm, and alarm bells went off.

Is this 'Machine A' thing supposed to be there, or do I have a problem
somewhere?

I'm sorry if I'm bugging dshield members needlessly. I honestly didn't
know who to ask. :(

Thanks for any help on this.

Karen
