Doug,

in a Windows Active Directory domain based network Windows Group Policy
can be used to configure logon scripts for both the computer and for the
user. The relevant GP objects can be found by opening up a GP template
using the GP editor and navigating to the following:

For computer logon scripts navigate to :

        [group policy name]>Computer Configuration>Administrative
Templates>System>Logon

For user logon scripts navigate to:

       [group policy name]>User Configuration>Administrative
Templates>System>Logon

A GP can be defined for all desktop computers in the AD domain so that
these scripts are automatically applied whenever the computer and/or
user authenticate to the domain controller.

In a non-AD network you can run Local Group Policy on each computer to
implement these scripts.
