Thanks John and Allan,
The cable modem has 3 lights excluding power and line sync. The others are
Lan, Line transmit and Line receive.
When I first looked up IP 220.127.116.11 it came out as
TELSTRAINTERNET101-AU, now this IP shows:-
inetnum: 18.104.22.168 - 22.214.171.124
descr: Telstra Internet
descr: Locked Bag 5744
descr: ACT 2601
remarks: All reports regarding SPAM or security breaches
remarks: should be addressed to abuse at telstra.net

So far I have had unauthorised programs trying to access two
TELSTRAINTERNETXXX-AU locations and no response from Telstra abuse.
