Bank of America put my name, address, and SSN on a laptop, and
then left the laptop in a car. You can guess what happened next.
After that, nothing amazes me any more. My credit card company
could sell my information directly to a group of identity thieves,
and I wouldn't be the least bit shocked. Things have gotten that
I agree that we need sensible minimum standards for data protection.
It's way overdue.
