We're starting to get into the age old debate of filtering on the
network: why it should be done, why it shouldn't be done, etc. We
know it breaks services that users might see "critical," but in the
interest of not having scores of hosts compromised in small periods
of time, we will be attempting to present our upper management with
some pros and cons.

I'd like to anonymously include some comments for/against filtering
network traffic from our peers --- that would be you, the reader!
What we are interested in hearing is the type of battles you have
fought and how it has impacted your network; anything ranging from
the security and integrity of the network, to the functionality of
the network. I'm not looking to start a war of ethics here, merely
hear how others have fought that war, both for and against
filtering.

Your comments are welcome; I will post a summary of comments if
there are enough to summarize.

Thanks.
