They're still "new" if the AV solution actually deployed on the desktop
doesn't recognize them.  So if you're using The Slower Vendor, or if your
users haven't updated their signatures.....

(And let's face it, *all* of us probably have at least one machine that hasn't
updated it in 2 or 3 years, and is infested with over a dozen different viruses
and worms, all fighting for control, and the user wondering why their system
acts like it's trying to suck dead whales on the beach through a straw... ;)
