Not entirely sure what you're after there, but the Nagios SSL plugin
makes sure that the SSL service is responding and that the certificate
is more than N days away from expiring.  I use it to keep tabs on a
few SSL web servers around here (it's a little less useful for things
that operate on STARTTLS style, like SMTP).
